Position Summary

The Tryst Trading Company food group is seeking passionate and personable Servers to join our dynamic team.

Servers are at the heart of the guest experience. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a culture that values genuine hospitality, teamwork, and meaningful connections with both guests and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Hospitality & Guest Experience

• Greet all guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service.
• Anticipate and promptly respond to guest needs.
• Ensure an exceptional experience from arrival to departure.

2. Order Management & Menu Expertise

• Accurately take food and beverage orders and process payments.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of all menu items, including key ingredients, allergens, and pairing suggestions.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all orders.

3. Alcohol Compliance

• Sell and serve alcoholic beverages in strict compliance with Washington, D.C. government regulations.

4. Service Flow & Team Support

• Continuously pre-bus and bus tables to maintain smooth service flow.
• Assist with hosting and counter to-go service as needed.
• Support coworkers with food running, bussing, stocking, and other operational needs.

5. Operations & Cleanliness

• Perform assigned running sidework and closing sidework duties.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all food safety best practices.

6. Management Support

• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to sell or serve alcohol in Washington, D.C.
• Strong verbal communication skills in English required.
• Prior hospitality or restaurant experience highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to quickly learn and memorize menu information.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
