**Key Responsibilities:**

Dispensing & Clinical Verification

› Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain required ingredients, and evaluate therapeutic suitability.

› Perform final pharmacist verification of all compounded preparations — sterile and non-sterile — prior to dispensing.

› Calculate, verify, and approve ingredient quantities, weights, and measurements for all compounded orders.

› Dispense medications as prescribed; ensure accurate labeling, packaging, and beyond-use dating.

› Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and proactively prevent harmful drug interactions.

Patient Care & Provider Collaboration

› Counsel patients on proper use, administration, storage, and handling of compounded medications.

› Advise physicians and other practitioners on drug selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects.

› Collaborate with clinical staff to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate drug regimens and patient outcomes.

› Respond to patient and provider inquiries with clinical accuracy, professionalism, and urgency.

Operations, Compliance & Records

› Maintain pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, and all required dispensing records.

› Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling per TSBP rules and APS SOPs.

› Ensure all dispensing activities comply with DEA regulations, USP <795>/<797>, and applicable federal law.

› Manage proper storage, handling, and inventory of pharmaceutical stock and controlled substances.

› Support quality assurance reviews, deviation reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

**Qualifications:**

Required

› Pharm.D. or B.S. Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

› Current, active Texas pharmacist license in good standing (TSBP).

› DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.

› Minimum 3–4 years experience in a retail, fulfillment, or compounding pharmacy.

› Excellent knowledge of drug interactions, side effects, and dosing.

› Strong medical/biological terminology and attention to detail.

Preferred

› Experience in a 503A compounding or specialty pharmacy.

› Familiarity with peptide therapy, HRT, GLP-1, or longevity medicine.

› Proficiency in LifeFile pharmacy management system.

› NABP accreditation familiarity.

› Board certification (BCPS, BCPP, or equivalent).
